Can't get passed it, I can start it over 10 times in a row.
Maybe you need a few tranquilizer's at the door. But the base line is so simple, I hated it at first. Tell I knew that was the point of it.
Then it goes into the chorus, it is so epic. The musical theory of this song. The vocals and lyrics are so awesome.
It should have been the first single.

Not to go off topic, But from every thing Alan did, Dave has eclipsed that, not even his written, but his vocals have gotten that much better.
It is nostalgia, Violator can't cope with their new stuff, on a musical level.
New fans don't know what old fans are talking about, when they talk about the good old days.

It what they have done is to be able to change the chords, to come up with different vocals.
It is quite complex, instead of repeating the chord sequence. To change to allow the vocal change.
You hear people complaining about the lack of melody, those people don't understand music.
Ask Alan, you don't hear the Alan fans complaining it is the dance fans with white trousers and a flat top.

One of their best songs ever. At first listen, it sounds simple enough. Then on subsequent listens, you realize new levels of complexity. And, I agree, those complaining about a lack of melody need a box of Q-tips to clean out their ears.

It's my favorite from Delta Machine. Atmosphere, it sounds like a dreamscape. Romantic. :)

I too love WTMW. For me caught my attention in the very first time i hear it and then is like i underrated the song myself, because of the other songs. is a great opener and in the line that says:"the devil got dismayed" i read "the devil got his mate":o:D

I love WTMW so much!! It had me from the first listen, and I thought it could be my favorite, but now I love it even more and I can say it is my top one from the album (though Angel and Alone aren't too far below it) ;) At first, hearing "leave your tranquilizers at home," struck me as kind of funny, but now I love that. Everything just works with this song. The lyrics, vocals, every sound and melody, just perfection. Epic, yes.
