Default Meaning of John The Revelator.

JTR is about the best song on PTA. It's upbeat and can be put out to the radio. It might seem original but is a cover of a previous version. What I want to know is what exactly is JTR about. IS it about a preacher whotries to take God away from people or trick them into false beliefs. JTR seems to be smoothe ,sneaky, and clever. He can do things without people knowing. He's either a televangelist or politician.

JTR is not a cover but has just been influenced by the original. I have heard the original
and has the lyric "whos that writing JTR" The original is very bluesy and not at all like the DM
version. Not sure what the DM version is about but your theory is very plausable. LOVE THE TRACK AS WELL

not a cover but inspired by it. heres the lyrics (by the way ridin not writing oops)

Well, whos that ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos the ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator
Wrote the book of the seventh seal

Well, God walked down in the cool of the day
And he called adam by his name
He refused to answer
cause he was naked and ashamed

Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos there ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos there ridin, john the revelator
Wrote the book of the seventh seal

Well, christ had twelve apostles
And he led twelve away
Said walk with me one hour til
I go on and pray.

Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator
Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator
Wrote the book of the seventh seal

Christ came down easter mornin
Mary and martha came to see
Said, go tell my disciples
Meet me down in galilee

Tell me whos that ridin, john the revelator, etc.
