What is the best way to get from NYC to Jones Beach? As in transportation.
What is the best way to get from NYC to Jones Beach? As in transportation. I really do not want to drive from the Midtown East to the show.

There's about 10 threads on this. LIRR from Penn Sta. to Freeport, shuttle bus from there to/from the venue. Penn Sta. is at 7th Ave. btwn 31st and 34th St. Main Entrances into Penn nearest the LIRR are on either 34th St., just west of 7th Ave. (big glass overhang above with massive LIRR on it), or on 7th Ave. at 32nd St. Down the stairs and bear right into the main LIRR waiting area.

Service does not begin till the end of the month though...

Very strange, Maybe a cab from the station then, I know that is waht people were planning to use to get back to the station because the last shuttel leaves before the concerts are normaly over. Try calling the train station and getting the cab company #/prices???

On the website it reads the last bus leaving at like 10:45. That maybe too early. I'll call again tomorrow.
