Default What is the best way to get from NYC to Jones Beach? As in transportation.

What is the best way to get from NYC to Jones Beach? As in transportation. I really do not want to drive from the Midtown East to the show.

There's about 10 threads on this. LIRR from Penn Sta. to Freeport, shuttle bus from there to/from the venue. Penn Sta. is at 7th Ave. btwn 31st and 34th St. Main Entrances into Penn nearest the LIRR are on either 34th St., just west of 7th Ave. (big glass overhang above with massive LIRR on it), or on 7th Ave. at 32nd St. Down the stairs and bear right into the main LIRR waiting area.

Check out www.mta.info for schedules and info.

Very strange, Maybe a cab from the station then, I know that is waht people were planning to use to get back to the station because the last shuttel leaves before the concerts are normaly over. Try calling the train station and getting the cab company #/prices???

I am from Montreal Canada but i am also going to that show. Here is the info that i reserach by calling several times.

From Manhattan: Long Island Rail road to Freeport, then buses to Jones Beach. Call 718-217-5477

From Penn Station NYC to Free port round trip $13.50

Bus from Freeport to Jones beach: The information # is: 516-228-4000 and its option #2. The bus will start on May 24th but will run for the concert. The bus route/# is JB62 out of Freeport.

The Bus fair is $2 one way and it takes about 30 minutes with traffic.

On the website it reads the last bus leaving at like 10:45. That maybe too early. I'll call again tomorrow.
