I never posted a pic of myself in this thread. There's a pic of myself in my profile here. I have more pics at my Facebook page, but I'm just too lazy to open up a Flicker or simlar account to post pics.

....no he doesn't! And I doubt he'll ever get to the level where I am now! Our "home/domestic" language is English, but we (I) do create some weird words mixed up and built from all the others, but it's mostly a french/engl. Another fun is to use English words/verbs, but conjugate them in a foreign way....oh God the laughs we have! It's such great fun! Most of them happen by accident. I'm also able to switch instantly from one language to the other!
I hate to say that, but just like the French, the British aren't very good at learning other languages, perhaps the Brits even less than the French, as everybody else around the world speaks their language, so why bother?
And another rule, the more languages you speak, the easier it gets to pass on to another! As my 5th language I'd like to take on Italian or Spanish!

lol! That's why I asked. It seems the majority of people who speak English as their native tongue just aren't quite gifted when it comes to learning other languages with native English speakers not finding it necessary to learn other languages with English being the "universal" language, as you alluded to. I speak Spanish but am quite rusty.

With you having one romance language down in French, I can see how it'd be easy for you to pick up Spanish or Italian. Though, I do need to defend some Brits who speak a foreign language. As we know, Mart picked up German while living in Germany, and he was nice enough to sing a song in German for us on Counterfeit2. :0) Also, even Sacha Baron Cohen had the German thing down in Bruno. hehe However, I doubt that he's fluent in German.

Could you please provide an example to me about how you conjugate an English word in a foreign way? That sounds funny. Cheers to happy accidents. Some Americans like to conjugate verbs the "American" way, i.e. "I 'brung' my shoes to school" or "I 'seen' that last night." :0) Though, I'm sure that some people in every language bastardize their grammar and conjugation. I know that I slip up here and there.

That's so cool that you met Dave! Did you meet Mart and Fletch, as well? I had a chance to meet him at Tower Records (RIP) for a record signing back in 2003 when he was on tour for Paper Monsters, but the record signing was at 3:00 p.m. when I was still at work. At least, I saw him that night in concert. :0)

blonde - black - blonde - black...... I know this very well!
I'm a natural blonde,(even my lashes and eyebrows are very light, so I have to dye them too!) and when I was young, I always had black hair! As a fanatic Cure fan than, how could I be not black!!!! And sometimes I went mad, and got total peroxyde blonde! but as my hair was not that long, and also shaved off on the sides and the back, it was easy to change color, as i just let my hair grow a tiny bit, and got the black cut out, and dyed the "fresh" new roots......sometimes ppl walked pass me without recognising me that was fun!

I was one peroxyde blonde as well And than back to black... and blonde again for the past few months.
However, I was really unhappy being so blonde, it felt like the top of my head was not mine at all, so I went back to black and even got some electric blue put in my hair.
