Default 1982 release by Basildon band Mixed Feelings

This is a very interesting read--with DM references!--from fellow Basildon band Mixed Feelings. There's a link as well to download demo songs from the band from the same year that includes two covers--"Ice Machine" and "Photographic".

Interesting read - thanks! I'll have a listen to the songs in a bit too... very curious. BTW, you had an extra http in your link. This should work better:

This album is fantastic! Not the lightning-in-a-bottle that Speak & Spell was, but a great example of early 80s minimal synthpop nonetheless. Thanks for sharing it.

Crispy Nuggets and Systems of Romance are two blogs that are treasure troves of 1980s synthesizers from the UK, Germany, France and USA. Highly recommend those sites.

This demo by Mixed Feelings is a real snapshot moment of what it was like for people to just get some cheap synths in the early 1980s and make music. Having the Depeche/Basildon angle just adds to the intrigue.

I happen to really like their version of "Ice Machine" too.

Talking Mixed Feelings - 'Another Place (Like Home)'

Just having a listen to Mixed Feelings' Another Place (Like Home). Very impressed. Sounds very much like an early Talk Talk song, covered by Client, with male lead vocals. Great stuff!
