There's been a lot of thread killing recently. This is tiring for both members and mods. I usually provide a link to the existing threads on the same topic, when I close them, but I don't always have the time to do it, and when I don't, I get nothing but nice PMs about it.
![]() When members register they are supposed to read, understand and follow the rules of the board. This includes doing a search before creating a new thread. Now, it's not always easy to find a thread, I know. That's why I am asking you to think about your thread titles, that will allow everyone to find them, reply to them, or find them in the future. For example: "Do you think....?"are BAD titles. Try being more specific: "Martin singing Sister of Night"Note, the use of nouns, titles and/or names increases the chances for your thread to be found. Try using the search feature on the top of every forum page. It's easy: 1. Select Advanced search options. 2. Enter your key word (more than 3 characters) and select Search Titles Only. Choose your key word wisely, use a noun, a name, a title. That's it. If you remember the exact phrase or words, then you'll do fine with the "Search Entire Posts" option. It's ok if you want to be a thread starter, but do a search first. There are so many threads that chances are, the topic you want to talk about has already been covered. Thanks.

Wow is that a show of appreciation?
![]() I have a bit more about the fine art of searching: Search this thread Now that threads can get very long, there's a feature which allows you to search within that specific thread. Look at the top of the thread, just below the page numbering. There's an advanced section in this feature. Give it a try.

Suggestion: When doing a search try several terms that could be related. For example 101 can't be used as a term because is too short, but you could use Pasadena, Rose Bowl, june 1988, etc.
Think about related words if your first try was not that fruitful.

hey, Pelicanito.
I also found "sticky" very useful ;-) And thank you for all the clean up mods do. Connecting similar threads helps traceability and avoid duplicates. The problem of having a main thread of, for example, "post your doubt here" is what you've referred... thread can go gigantic!
