We all have our favorites and then our lesser favorites.

Then all of a sudden...one that you've listened to many times before just jumps out and hits you! Never paid it much notice before but now it's almost like a new song.

For me this has recently happened with:

The Sweetest Condition: the lyrics hit me one day. Sexy and intense. (and the song that was playing when the pic of my avatar was taken ;))

The Darkest Star: same with this one. Don't be something you are not - I love that.

Macro: didn't realize until I got TTA DVD recently that Dave sings backup on this. Then I noticed the whole song again and I love it all the more now.

Honestly at 1st listen I didn't like Macro and The Darkest Star, but over time they really started to grow on me. Sweetest Condition was just there. I think songs "growing on you" is one of the best things about DM's music. Somehow the ones that have grown on me I have a much deeper appreciation for. I could speak with with for one minute. He was extremly kind. I just could thank him for his lyrics, Depeche monday show (very moving) and he was listening to me, looking at me into the eyes, with a shy smile, THANKING ME. HE THANKED ME 3 TIMES !!! He is really a humble man.
I said to him I had a son called Martin and I think he was ashamed...

You know? I imagined this possibility too many times during my life: HE HAS NOT DECEIVED ME. He really looks like the sensitive man you can think he is... THANKS MARTIN FOR GIVING ME THIS LITTLE MOMENT, THAT I'LL TREASURED ALL MY LIFE.

I've been a bit nervous about posting this as its my first ever video effort. :eek:

I did this as a 'Music and Meaning' photography college project after SOTU was released where I had to use stills which, for me, captured the essence of the song material. I feel its deeply spiritual.

I had to choose the song and being a MASSIVE DM fan since 81 I had to go with them.

I do a lot of live music photography here in Sussex (I struggle to get press passes though) and fine art (just got a new studio) and this was kind of comfortable for me to do.

I got a 'distinction' for it which I was pleased about but I thought I'd see what you guys thought of it. You can see the Anton influences all over it but being mode I thought that was best.

I shot it in Surrey, Sussex and Istanbul (believe it or not) and no I didn't really cut my hand. :-)

I have a strange feeling that I would like to share with all of you, fans like me:

- It is a routine show where Dave just performs a character and doesn't seem to enjoy as he used to. The feeling of routine is sad because I wish every night were special. I know that is not possible but I would like to see more spontaneity and differences.

- The drums are so loud compared to the rest of the instruments! Why?

- I have a karaoke feeling. It seems that the band is stuck in three of four songs where there are so many to choose!! why don't they play more songs from Playing the Angel? it is a great album!!

Obviously, I had a great time yesterday night. They are the soundtrack of my life and I can't help get too passionate when I listen live Walking in My Shoes or think about my hometown and my mum on Home.

it may be an easy song to play but for a 15 year old who loves rap...this is a great start.
